Houston Chronicle: 3 Months After Hurricane Harvey, FEMA Paying Nearly $3M Per Day For Hotels

It’s been three months since Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area. Flooding damaged an estimated 311,000 homes.

But now, more than 47,000 flood victims are still living in hotels and motels.

Reporting from The Houston Chronicle has looked into the cost of putting all of these flood victims up in hotels, and the pace of housing recovery in and around Houston.

Rebecca Elliot has been writing about it. She covers City Hall for the paper.
