Earlier this month, we told you about how the editors of Arizona Highways Magazine were on the hunt for a copy of the December 1930 edition. They’re in the process of digitizing every edition from the magazine’s 90-plus year history, but were missing that one. Editor Robert Stieve told me he had teams searching for one.

"The first thing we did is we went to eBay, because typically, we can find any of our old issues, and again, this has never happened before in our history. So yes, the team’s been calling out and we’ve been reaching out to some of our usual suspects, and then we also put out a press release," he said.

Which is how we heard about the story, and lo and behold, that interview led to the unearthing of a copy of that edition. It was in the collection of Dennis Chandler of Avondale, who joins me.
