Part of the Loop 202 Red Mountain will remains closed after a two way vehicle crash early Thursday morning.

DPS Trooper Kameron Lee said the passenger of one of the vehicles was ejected from his car. Lee said his injuries are life threatening.

"We have to measure the entire roadway and we just can’t measure the lanes that were affected, we have to measure the entire roadway when we do it," Lee said. "And we’re also trying to determine why the white Mustang was facing the wrong way. Was he driving wrong way? Was he involved in something prior that caused him to spin around facing wrong way?"

It’s the driver of the Ford Mustang who was ejected from his car.

Lee said there were no calls from other drivers alerting DPS to a wrong way driver. He does not know if the driver of the Mustang was impaired.

The other driver sustained less serious injuries.

The Loop 202 remains closed from State Route 143 to Priest Drive.
