ADEQ Declares High Pollution Advisory

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality says we could have more days like today, where the air quality is so bad the agency had to declare a high pollution advisory.

Timothy Franquist is with ADEQ. "What we’re experiencing right now is not likely going to be short term. We’re going to be experiencing this at least through the winter." he said.

Franquist says the combination of no rain or wind, plus the cloud coverage is trapping the dust.

A high pollution advisory lets the public know the level of an air pollutant is expected to exceed the federal health standard.
