Negotiations continue behind the scenes on what to do with the nearly 700,000 so-called DREAMers in the United States, who were brought to this country as children when undocumented relatives took them across the border.
There is support on both sides for an agreement but little public progress.
U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake said on Tuesday that “We don’t need partisan bills that send a message, we need bipartisan solutions that can pass the Senate. … If we hope to protect DACA recipients, both sides need to compromise.”
