Online Pet Retailer Opening First Arizona Warehouse

Goodyear is welcoming pet products company Chewy.

The online retailer is building a 802,671 square-foot facility in Goodyear’s Airport Gateway Development, a master-planned business park near 143rd Avenue and Van Buren Street.

The city is waiving development fees and providing up to $910,000 in incentives. Goodyear expects Chewy’s fulfillment center to create 700 full-time jobs and generate $4.1 million in direct revenue over five years.

The warehouse is expected to open by next summer.

Chewy said it employs more than 6,000 people in their Dania Beach, Florida, home office, Boston office, and fulfillment centers in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Texas, Nevada, and Florida.

Earlier this year, Phoenix-based PetSmart acquired Chewyfor more than $3 billion.
