Phoenix Day Merges With Community Nonprofit A New Leaf

A New Leaf is taking in Phoenix Day, an acquisition that means those community resources for early childhood development will continue uninterrupted.

The consolidation will keep Phoenix Day in its current location south of downtown, but will shift the financial and management to A New Leaf.

New Leaf Board Chair Brad Snyder said their nonprofit resources will help Phoenix Day survive.

“Funding for early childhood education decreased," he said. "And Phoenix Day saw themselves having to raise more money than it ever had without the infrastructure in place to raise that money.”

Snyder said the acquisition is a good fit for both groups who hope to expand their programs.

“If you are somebody who is starting over in your life, having solid childcare for your children becomes one of your highest priorities. And this is what Phoenix Day does.”

Snyder said the long term goal is to expand both programs to reach more people in need across the Valley.
