Real Remorse Or Fauxpology? ASU Professor Explains Difference

In light of so many sexual misconduct allegations against high profile men, we’re hearing a lot of apologies, denials and what some call "faux apologies."

A fauxpology may sound like an apology but doesn’t include remorse. 

Dr. Dawn Gilpin, who specializes in public relations and social media at the Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, talked more about different kinds of apologies.

Gilpin also weighed on how people in the public eye — like members of Congress and celebrities — should respond to public accusations.
