Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will close its north runway for repairs on Monday, Jan. 8.
Greg Roybal, spokesman for the airport, said crews “are removing and replacing some pavement that was installed on the north runway in October 2016 which is now showing signs of flaking.”
Arrival and departure delays are possible during peak travel times from 7:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Passengers who have tight connections are reminded to contact their airline if they are concerned about having enough time to transfer between flights.
Work on the runway is scheduled to be completed by Feb. 21.
