Maricopa County Judge To Hear Arguments In School Funding Lawsuit

A Maricopa County Superior Court judge will hear legal arguments Friday in a school funding lawsuit.

Plaintiffs in the case said the state has not been providing adequate funding for public school capital needs and that violates the Arizona Constitution.

The case is one of the forces behind Gov. Doug Ducey’s new plan to add more than $1 billion to the public school capital budget.

Ducey said he hopes the state can settle without further litigation.
