Flu Cases Continue To Increase Across Arizona

The number of people contracting the flu continues to surge across Arizona. The Arizona Department of Health Services said the Influenza A strain is sickening most patients.

More than 11,000 lab confirmed flu cases have been reported in Arizona. That number is from the time flu season began in October through the first week of January.

The numbers are staggering in comparison to past years.

Last year at this time there were just over 1,000 cases, meaning there are 10 times more cases this year.

Nearly half of the total flu cases were reported in Maricopa County.
