Arizona U.S. Congressional Holdouts Warned No DACA, No Latino Vote

Outside Democratic Headquarters near Central and Thomas avenues, a crowd of DACA supporters stood with megaphones and a big makeshift "Wall of Shame" board Tuesday with photos of 30 Democrats from across the country.

They were chanting, "No dream, no deal!" as the crowd around them joined in the chorus.

"If you want our support," Aldo Gonzalez blared through the megaphone, "then we need your support right now."

He was among many DREAMers here warning Arizona Democrats on the "Wall of Shame" that the Hispanic voters' loyalty has limits for those who fail to protect young adults living here under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

"We're going to organize and we're going to vote these people out," he hollered as a the crowd erupted in support.

They heckled Democratic Party spokesman Enrique Gutierrez as he tried to gain their trust.

"We are in full support of the DREAMers. We believe in you guys, we stand with you guys," Gutierrez tried to yell above the din.

But one protester yelled a little louder, "We want action!" And another shouted, Members of your party are not showing us that they support us!"

They're mainly targeting Arizona Democrats Kyrsten Sinema and Tom O'Halleran, who voted with Republicans to extend the budget deadline last month but did not insist that it include protecting DREAMers.

Arizona Democrats Raul Grijalva and Ruben Gallego were strongly opposed to extending the budget deadline and said they will remain opposed when the deadline hits once again on Friday and there is no plan to protect DREAMers.
