Snowfall Creates Hazardous Road Conditions Near Flagstaff

Hazardous driving conditions have been reported on Interstates 17 and 40 in the Flagstaff area. Snow continues to fall across parts of northern and eastern Arizona.

“About one to three inches across the area of snow has fallen already,” Langevin said. “It looks like we’ll probably still see another one to three inches between now and early tonight," said Michael Langevin, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Flagstaff.

According to the Associated Press, there have been reports of slide-offs and crashes due to the slick conditions.

A photo posted this afternoon by the National Weather Service shows northbound traffic on I-17 at a standstill at Munds Park south of Flagstaff.
