The Arizona Cardinals have a new coach: Steve Wilks. Wilks is the current defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers. He’ll sign a four-year contract with a team option for a fifth year. The Cardinals will introduce Wilks at a press conference on Tuesday.
Before spending a year as coordinator, Wilks coached the Panthers' secondary for five seasons.
Wilks, 48, takes over from Bruce Arians. With 50 wins in five seasons, Arians became the winningest coach in Cardinals history.
Arizona finished the year 8 and 8. The Carolina Panthers made it to the playoffs before losing in the first round.
