New UA Study Works To Solve Nursing Burnout

Burnout is a condition that affects people in all sorts of careers. Its effect on nurses is especially dramatic and may be contributing to the shortage we’re seeing across the country in that profession.

Allison Gabriel, assistant professor of Management and Organizations at the University of Arizona, worked on a study with colleagues to determine whether so-called compassion practices could make a positive difference by improving nurses’ emotional well-being.

Gabriel's background is in organizational psychology and employee well-being.
