Phoenix Temperatures Could Hit Low 80s This Weekend

It’s not even February yet, but temperatures could hit the low 80s by Sunday. And by Monday, we could break a record.

We haven’t had much of winter, and Mike O’Malley, with the National Weather Service in Phoenix, said that’s because we’ve been locked in a pattern where all of the storm systems are staying to the north of us.

“So we’re getting the tail end of the cooler weather," O'Malley said.

And, he said, we warm back up very quickly. Which brings us to Monday.

“A high temperature possibly 83 or 84 degrees and the record for the date is 83 degrees, which was set in 1935," he said.

O’Malley said this is no way indicative of what we’ll see in the coming months, adding we could still see rain and some cooler temps.
