Phoenix, Tucson Temperatures In January Hit Records

This story should come as no surprise given our warm temperatures this winter. The National Weather Service offices in Arizona's two major desert cities say January was the warmest on record for Tucson and the third warmest for Phoenix.

Phoenix's average temperature in January was just over 61 degrees, making it the third warmest for the month.

The average high temperature was just shy of 74 degrees. Tucson had a record warmest average temperature of 59.1 degrees after notching a record 19 days with highs that were 75 degrees or warmer.
