Flagstaff City Manager Resigns, Cites 'Unprofessional' Treatment By Council Members

Flagstaff City Manager Josh Copley has resigned and the Flagstaff City Council is considering its options.

In a letter to the Flagstaff City Council this week, Copley wrote that council members had repeatedly treated him in an “unprofessional and discourteous manner.”

KJZZ reached out to the city, but a spokeswoman said the city has no comment on Copley’s resignation. Copley also stated in his letter that two council members seemed more concerned with their political ambitions and personal agendas rather than the good of the city as a whole.

He said he hopes his resignation will spark a renewed interest among some council members to put aside petty differences for the greater good of the citizens.

The council is expected to take action over the next few days.
