Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake Says U.S. Needs 'More Immigration, Not Less'

Some United States Senators are trying to break a log jam that stalled the immigration debate before it got started.

Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake is sponsoring a bill that mirrors what President Donald Trump is backing, without cutting legal immigration levels in half.

"Any proposal from Republicans that cuts legal immigration over time, maybe in half, it’s a non starter," Flake said. "We’re going to need more immigration, not less."

Flake said he needs to see if his bill has bipartisan support.

On Tuesday, President Trump Tweeted that this latest effort would be quote “our last chance, there will never be another opportunity!”
