"Black Panther" premieres Friday. And to say the movie is highly anticipated would be an understatement.

The online ticketing service Fandango is reporting presale tickets for the Disney-Marvel movie are outpacing advance sales for all other first-quarter releases in the company’s 18-year history.

The movie is also being viewed as a game changer for African-Americans in front of — and behind the camera — in Hollywood.

For those of us who don’t know a lot about comics, Black Panther has been around since 1966 and it tells the story that fits into the category of Afrofuturism, according to Jamie Broadnax. She’s the founder and editor-in-chief of Black Girl Nerds.
