Republican Senator Jeff Flake continues to push for an immigration solution for DACA recipients and Dreamers despite his ensuing retirement.
Speaking on CNBC.com Friday morning, Flake said any legislation that reduces overall legal immigration should be off the table.
“You can be pro-growth and anti-immigration, you just can't be both. We're going to need increased immigration in the out years. So that's why I can't vote for the Grassley bill unless it includes that," he said.
Flake added there aren’t enough Republican votes currently in the Senate to reduce legal immigration in the coming years.
