Strong Winds, Snow Expected In Northern Arizona This Week

Strong winds, snow and cold temperatures are expected to hit northern Arizona between Sunday night and Monday.

Payson could see 10 inches of snow, and wind gusts could hit 60 miles an hour in some parts.

“Ahead of it, we’re going to get some breezy conditions, especially out West,” said Chris Kuhlman, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. “But for the Phoenix area, during the afternoon especially, it’s going to be quite windy and we might even see a few showers mainly to the north and east of Phoenix.”

After this storm moves through, a few smaller ones will come in, keeping temperatures low for the rest of the week.
