Activists In Arizona March For Clean DREAM Act, Support Local DREAMers

Local activists gathered at Arizona State University on Sunday. Chants like “Education Not Deportation” rang out along University Drive in Tempe.

College students and educators alike came out to demand action on a clean DREAM Act - meaning not contingent on a border wall or other tradeoffs.

Carlo Altamirano is a doctoral student at ASU and the co-president of the organization Global to Global Justice.

"We support our students, in particular undocumented students at ASU and everywhere else that are currently facing a lot of uncertainty, that are afraid of their future because they don’t know what’s going to happen,” Altamirano said.

They ended their march by hanging a banner over the bridge that crosses University Drive. The banner reads “We Support a Clean DREAM Act now!”
