South Phoenix is bracing for a lot of change. Valley Metro is planning a six-mile extension of the light rail into the area in the next few years that will connect downtown Phoenix south all the way to Baseline Road.
And that could be hard on local businesses — especially along Central Avenue, where construction will make business access difficult for some time.
That’s why the Raza Development Fund and JPMorgan Chase are partnering to create a new $1.1 million lending program to help South Phoenix businesses and entrepreneurs, particularly those along the path of the new light rail.
The Show’s Lauren Gilger spoke with Tom Espinoza, CEO of the Raza Development Fund, to find out more about it.
