Scottsdale Education Association President: New Acting Superintendent 'Signals Change'

The Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) has been embroiled in conflict this year. On Tuesday night, the governing board voted to stop construction on two voter-approved projects and put a new administrator temporarily in charge of the district.

KJZZ’s Mariana Dale has been following this story and had spent a lot of time at governing board meetings lately. She joins The Show's Mark Brodie and Lauren Gilger to talk about it.

And for more on some of the decisions coming out of Tuesday night's meeting of the SUSD Governing Board, we're joined by Julie Cieniawski. She’s a teacher in the district and president of the Scottsdale Education Association, which represents SUSD teachers.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
