McCain's Wife, Daughter Discuss Trump's Comments About Senator

Sen. John McCain’s wife and daughter addressed comments made by President Donald Trump about the Arizona senator at last week’s C-PAC Conference.

The two women appeared on “The View;" Meghan McCain is a co-host on the show. She said it was incredibly hurtful to see the president talk about how McCain derailed last year’s effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Cindy McCain also addressed the president’s remarks on the show.

"We need more compassion, we need more empathy, we need more togetherness in terms of working together. We don’t need more bullying and I’m tired of it," Cindy McCain said.

McCain’s daughter said she had talked to Trump about his previous attacks and was led to believe they would stop. She said she was naive to believe that. As for the senator’s health, Cindy McCain said her husband is recovering from his latest round of chemotherapy and radiation.
