Maricopa County Community College District employees are suing the governing board of the school district. The lawsuit comes after the board eliminated a faculty negotiation tool last month.
A nonprofit group representing employees filed the complaint asking a judge to change the board’s decision.
The community college board voted 4-3 last month to cut a program called “meet and confer,” essentially calling it an outdated policy.
The board meetings brought out hundreds of often-emotional employees to see how their jobs might be affected.
Board members said faculty can expect minimal changes.
