When President Donald Trump visits Southern California on Tuesday to get his first up-close look at the border wall prototypes, protesters and supporters will be there to greet him.
The border wall prototypes sit in a remote area on the eastern edge of San Diego.

A coalition of groups supporting the president’s plan to build the wall will rally on near there, while activists, lawmakers, immigrants and various clergy will gather at a church about 10 miles to the west.
Trump’s visit is theatre aimed to inspire his base, said Roberto Alcantar, senior campaign strategist for the American Civil Liberties Union of San Diego & Imperial Counties.
“To us, he’s playing politics right now,” he said. “And we see right through this. To him, this is a political game.”
To help prevent a riot or other violence, local law enforcement has issued a temporary ban of poles, boards and other items for the area near the border wall prototypes.
