Expect To See More Health Care Jobs In Arizona

Expect to see more health care jobs in the coming year or so. That’s according to the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity.

Doug Walls, the agency’s research administrator, said that’s because Arizona has a lot of seasonal visitors who need care — then there’s demographics.

"We have a larger share of individuals who are 65 and older, than the average state. We actually are within the top 10," said Walls.

Other sectors that could add more jobs through the middle of 2019, include administrative support, construction and food service.

Walls said we can also expect to see more job growth in Maricopa County outside of metro Phoenix.

Overall employment is expected to grow by almost 153,000 jobs over the two-year period.
