Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake appeared on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday after Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe was fired on Friday.

Flake was asked if Republicans would push back if President Trump took actions to fire special counsel Robert Mueller

"I hope so,” Flake said. “I mean talking to my colleagues all along it was — you know once he goes after Mueller, then we’ll take action. I think that people see that as a massive red line that can’t be crossed.”

Flake attended the Politics and Eggs event in New Hampshire last week. The event is a stop off for major presidential candidates, though Flake has stopped short of committing himself to running in a Republican primary challenge against President Donald Trump in 2020.
