Tuesday marks the first official day of spring. For many public schools across the state, it coincides with spring break.
National Weather Service meteorologist Mark O’Malley looked at incoming systems and predicted ideal conditions this week in the lower elevations with highs in the 70s and 80s.
And, a new system later this week, he said will drop warming temperatures in northern Arizona.
"Later in the week, the highs will dip down into the 40s and 50s and the higher elevations could see a little bit of snow up there," he said.
That’s great news for Snowbowl where the chilly overnight air will help preserve a ten inch snowpack that fell over the past 48 hours.
The ski park reported three inches fell over Sunday night allowing management to reopen three of its popular runs.
