Arizona Lawmakers Fast-Tracking Education Sales Tax Extension

Arizona lawmakers are expected to fast-track bills to extend the state’s six-tenths of a cent sales tax that funds education.

Proposition 301 is set to expire in a few years; it currently brings in nearly $650 million a year.

Howie Fischer of Capitol Media Service joined The Show to talk about the tax and and other things state Legislature.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
