Glendale Adding Police Officers At Every City High School

Glendale is taking charge by putting police officers on every high school campus in the city by this week.

The city and the police department came together to free up resources to fund a project this large. There are four school resource officers already on campuses across the districts.

Glendale Police Chief Rick St. John believes there have been a dozen threats in Glendale to the high schools since the Florida school shooting.

“We have 9 high school campuses, over four districts within the city of Glendale and we’re seeing an unprecedented number of threats and incidents that have begun to occur and they all seem to be linked to what happened in Parkland, Florida,” St. John said.

St. John said safety is a priority and is working with the city to shift resources allowing the officers to be in all high schools Monday.
