President Trump recently mentioned that he wanted the U.S. to have its own “space force.”
That particular phrasing caught a lot of people by surprise and made it seem extremely far-fetched. But members of the House have actually brought it up themselves. A provision in the House version of this year’s National Defense Authorization Act called on the Air Force to spin off a separate department focused on space.
