On Monday, Eileen Klein announced she is stepping down as president of the Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) later this year.
During the five years of Klein’s leadership, ABOR has passed tuition increases for the state’s public universities as they struggled with budget cuts.
In a statement Klein said “these institutions of higher learning are more competitive and successful than ever.” She also said she’s taking time off before deciding what to do next.
Anne Ryman, higher education reporter for the Arizona Republic, talked about the impact of Klein's annoucement.
