On Friday, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey signed House Bill 2153. It blocks any local ordinance that requires non-profit groups involved in local elections to register as political action committees. And it makes sure to prohibit any requirement to identify contributors.
That bill signing came a very short time after voters in Tempe — on a 91.9 percent margin — decided they didn’t want so-called "dark money" in their elections.
Former Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard said he is leading the “Stop Political Dirty Money Amendment” effort — which could end up on the ballot this fall.
The Show also talked to Jon Riches of the Goldwater Institute to find out what he thought of Gov. Ducey’s decision to sign HB 2153. He said that he is supportive of the measure.
