The man who oversees Arizona State University athletics has been given a new contract.
According to The Arizona Republic, Anderson has agreed to a three-year contract extension, keeping him in his role until 2022. The extension also includes a raise to a base salary of $800,000 per year. Anderson also receives bonuses from athletic and academic performance incentives.
Ray Anderson took over as ASU's athletic director in 2014. SInce then, he's been responsible for hiring several coaches for Sun Devil teams, including men's basketball coach Bobby Hurley, and football coach Herm Edwards, who Anderson represented as an agent years ago. He negotiated a new uniform contract with Adidas, and has overseen the $300 million renovation of 60-year-old Sun Devil Stadium. Four varsity sports, including men's ice hockey, have been added under Anderson.
