The biosciences sector in Arizona was intended to be one of the strongest sectors in the state, and a great way to diversify the economy while also potentially helping the health of residents here and across the country. Between 2002 and 2016, bioscience jobs grew in Arizona by nearly 60 percent, and the state has outpaced the rest of the country since 2009. But not everything is headed in a positive direction.
