Organizer Believes Arizona Teachers Will Vote to Authorize Strike

Arizona teachers will vote this week on whether to authorize a strike. They’ve been demanding a 20 percent pay increase, as well as other increases to education funding.

Last week, Gov. Doug Ducey unveiled a proposal to give teachers that pay raise over a few years, but some teachers remain skeptical.

Derek Harris, a middle school band teacher in the Tucson Unified School District and one of the lead organizers of Arizona Educators United, talked to The Show about the vote, which will run tomorrow through Thursday.
