CDC Continues Investigation Into E. Coli Outbreak In Lettuce

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating an outbreak of E. coli infections that has spread to 11 states.

The likely cause is romaine lettuce grown in Yuma, a major supplier of winter produce in the country.

The Show was joined by Dr. Laura Gieraltowski, an epidemiologist with the CDC who is looking into this outbreak.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
