Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake Requests Passage Of DACA Bill For Third Time

U.S. Senator Jeff Flake returned to the floor Tuesday requesting passage of his temporary solution for DACA recipients facing potential deportation.

The senator has requested passage of his bill two other times, but was blocked through objection.

Flake has promised to return to the floor frequently until the senate reaches a deal on recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

The “three-for-three” proposal introduced in February would extend DACA protections for three years and provide $7.6 billion to fund three years of increased security along the southern border.

“These young immigrants were brought here through no fault of their own, they've waited long enough for these protections. Likewise, border communities, like in my home state of Arizona have waited long enough for increased security along our southern border," Flake said.

The senator was again blocked Tuesday but said he will continue pushing until the Senate reaches a DACA deal.
