While many regions of the country are struggling to increase manufacturing jobs, Arizona is economically strong in the area.
The state’s Office of Economic Opportunity spokesman Doug Walls said manufacturing employment gains here are outpacing the rest of the U.S.
“The nation recorded a 1.9 percent increase in manufacturing employment compared to Arizona which is up 5.5 percent,” he said.
Walls also said exports led by computer and electronic parts are feeding the growth of manufacturing in the state.
