It used to be that when you bought an item in the color “nude,” like nylons or shoes, it would be the same light beige.
But today, you can get your makeup — and your nylons, shoes or just about anything else that comes in nude — in shades that match any skin color. Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty has 40 different shades of foundation along with the tagline “Beauty for All.”
With the buying power of women of color in the beauty world, the question is: What took so long?
We took that question to Julee Wilson, beauty editor for Essence magazine.
