March Marks The Busiest Month In History Of Sky Harbor International Airport

This March marked the busiest month in the history of Sky Harbor International Airport. Passenger numbers were 2.3 percent higher than the previous March.

Sky Harbor served 4.4 million passengers last month, setting a record for the amount of travelers in any given month. Heather Lissner works with the airport. She said the previous record was in March of 2016.

"It’s great for our economic impact to the region and we’ve been increasing our air service both internationally and domestically," Lissner said. "Passenger numbers for our two largest carriers (American Airlines and Southwest Airlines) were also up.”

Lissner said March brings in a lot of visitors for Spring Training, NASCAR and other events.
