Evacuations Ordered For Arizona Communities Near Tinder Fire

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office has ordered evacuations for several communities near the Tinder Fire.

The Tinder Fire is human-caused and burning nine miles east of Clints Well in Coconino County.

The Tinder Fire was burning 500 acres as of Sunday morning. Coconino County announced Sunday that the Sheriff’s Office had ordered evacuations for several communities.  Those communities include: Moqui Ranchettes, Starlight Pines Ranchettes Unit 1 and 2 and Clear Creek Pines Unit 8 and 9. A shelter has been activated at Winslow Junior High School and a large animal shelter has been opened at the Holbrook Navajo County Fairground.
