Arizona Sen. John McCain’s daughter, Meghan McCain, tweeted that she is coming home to Arizona to be with her family this weekend.
McCain, a host on ABC’s The View, tweeted that she would be back on the show Tuesday.
She thanked her followers for their prayers, patience, understanding and compassion during this time. Her father was diagnosed with brain cancer last year. On Thursday, NPR aired Sen. McCain reading an excerpt from his final memoir, "The Restless Wave."
In the meantime, Arizona officials are seeking legal guidance from the Arizona Attorney General’s Office on rules for filling his seat should McCain retire or pass away while in office.
