Could Public-Private Partnerships Keep NASA's Golden Age Going?

NASA retired its space shuttle mission earlier this decade while private companies like SpaceX have generated headlines, in recent years, for both their proposed and actual missions into space.

Martin Elvis, an astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, said that kind of arrangement can help keep NASA’s "golden age" alive.
