You could see fewer parking lots in Chandler in the future.

Chandler could be looking to downsize its parking lots.

The City Council Thursday night will consider a proposed change to the city’s zoning code, which could lead to less parking in Chandler, but more pick-up and drop-off zones. The proposal is in anticipation of more ride sharing and autonomous vehicles in the city, which could change how people use cars.

To find out more about the proposed change, The Show went to Chandler City Hall to talk to David de la Torre, the principal planner with the city’s Development Services Department.
