On Monday, Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton officially announced when he’ll be stepping down.
Back in October, he announced his congressional run in the 9th District and, more than seven months later, he submitted his resignation letter.
Now the Phoenix City Council is bracing for a domino effect of changes. A temporary mayor will be needed until a new permanent one is elected and two sitting council members have expressed their intent to run for the position.
