Democratic Leaders In D.C. Join Education Leaders To Introduce Legislation Aimed At Helping Public Schools

Arizona teachers have been back in the classroom for weeks now, but the effects of their six-day walkout are still being felt in our nation’s capital.

On Tuesday, Democratic leaders in Washington, D.C., joined the presidents of the National Education Association and the Federation of Teachers on Capitol Hill to announce new federal legislation aimed at increasing teacher pay and making investments in America’s public schools.

But how much can the federal government really do when it comes to funding education?
